Our club has participated in the Rotary International Youth Exchange program for 40+ years hosting students from other countries as well as sponsoring Slinger High School students experience an academic year abroad. The program is possible with the support of the Rotary club members, Slinger High School and many families who have opened their homes and lives welcoming exchange students from other parts of the world. Each year our club sponsors one or more inbound and outbound exchange students. Some of the more recent exchange students we have hosted in Slinger were from Thailand, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, India, Germany and Turkey plus many more. The most powerful force in the promotion of international understanding and peace is exposure to different cultures. Youth exchange provides thousands of young people and host families with the opportunity to meet people from other lands and to experience their cultures, thus planting the seeds for a lifetime of international understanding.
